If most dance studios seem to have qualified, friendly teachers, experience teaching children and a big show at the end of the year, aren’t they all pretty much the same? Does it really matter which place you decide to enroll at? Yes. There are 5 things that can make a difference in the quality of instruction your child receives, the amount of extra work and hassles the parents must deal with and the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of being involved with a dance program. Here are 5 things that every parent should consider before deciding on a dance studio for their child.
1. WHAT TYPE OF DANCE FLOOR IS USED?
Our Dance Studio Advantage - The "Floating" Professional Dance Floor
Our "Floating" Dance Floor rests on a system of high density foam to absorb the shock and impact of regular dance movement. This benefits students by reducing fatigue and preventing injury that can result from dancing on hard surfaces.
The top layer of our flooring surface is a professional vinyl composite "marley" floor similar to the surfaces used by the American Ballet Theatre, and countless Broadway shows. This marley floor surface has a certain amount of controlled slip as to allow for sliding in normal dance movement.
2. WHAT ARE THE “EXTRAS” REQUIRED FOR THE YEAR END SHOW?
We do not charge a recital or performance fee. Included in your family tuition are two free recital tickets, free programs, and a free DVD of the show. In addition, each student is awarded a trophy at the recital.
Most studios put on a year end show in a professional theatre. Students that perform in the show must have a costume for their dance number. Some studios may require parents to sew or alter their child’s costumes. This can be inconvenient and frustrating for parents who are busy or can’t sew. A complimentary seamstress will be provided for free alterations, so parents do not have to worry about any costume hassles.

4. WHERE CAN I GET MY CHILD’S DANCE SUPPLIES?
For your convenience, we have a dance supply store located inside our studio. We offer quality merchandise at competitive prices. This is a major time saver for parents who do not want to make “special trips” across town to pick up tights, shoes, or basic supplies.
5. WHAT KIND OF FACILITIES DO YOU HAVE?
Kickline Dance Center offers the largest classrooms in the area. This allows for more practice space and better choreography for our recitals. For parents, we have the largest waiting room in the area equipped with WiFi internet access. Our two classrooms are equipped with mirrored walls, bars, mats, air-conditioning and professional sound systems.
